The Open Day “Technology and Innovation for a Circular Economy: Sustainable Solutions in Action in Europe,” organized by AMIU Genova as part of the European project LIFE INFUSION, concluded successfully, on Genova, 31st October 2024.
The event welcomed representatives and stakeholders from across Europe to Genoa, gathered to discuss and highlight the progress made toward more sustainable waste and resource management. The day was divided into two main sessions.
In the morning, project partners and other stakeholders visited the Monte Scarpino site, where they observed first-hand the innovative technologies AMIU has applied for leachate treatment and biogas energy production. This facility stands as a true European benchmark, demonstrating how technological innovation can effectively reduce the environmental impact of waste.
In the afternoon, attention shifted to the Surpluse Center on Via Bologna, where an English-language workshop took place, featuring two sessions of presentations. European and local experts shared their insights and showcased the advances and results achieved through LIFE INFUSION, complemented by other best practices. The exchange of experiences and technologies throughout the day laid a solid foundation for further collaborations, strengthening the European network of research and innovation in service of the environment.
Special thanks to all participants, organizers, and speakers who contributed to the success of the event, highlighting the importance of international collaboration on the path toward a circular economy.
