This May, the works allowing for the hosting of the LIFE INFUSION pilot at COGERSA’s facilities have been finalized. This milestone marks a significant step in the implementation of the Infusion solution at this second demonstrative site.
The completion of the civil works paves the way for the next phase of the project, which involves the installation and integration of equipment. It’s worth noting that a substantial portion of the pilot plant has already been transported from Ecoparc 2, Barcelona. While some key units, such as the reverse osmosis system, biogas upgrading system, and storage tanks, are scheduled to arrive in the coming months, the groundwork has been laid for their seamless incorporation.
In this second demo site, the Infusion solution will be tested with leachate from the landfill, and not only will biomethane be obtained from the produced biogas, but also the regenerated water will be used for the cultivation of microalgae. By leveraging advanced technologies and methodologies, the aim is to optimize waste treatment processes, minimize environmental impact, and maximize resource recovery.
