Today is the World Environment Day, an official international day proclaimed in 1973 by the United Nations and supported by many non-governmental organizations, businesses and government entities.
The topic of this year in the 50th anniversary of World Environment Day is “solutions to plastic pollution” and the general objective is to encourage awareness and action for the protection of the environment.
These challenges are aligned with the main objective of LIFE INFUSION project, to demonstrate the viability of a resource recovery-based innovative scheme to obtain useful sustainable outputs such as biogas, nutrients and regenerated water.
Therefore, LIFE INFUSION proposes an environmentally friendly solution based on the combination of highly efficient biological and physical-chemical separation technologies to lower environmental impact of municipal solid waste management.
By making the treatment process more efficient and the possibility to produce added-value products, the project contributes to reduce natural resources consumption and to the change towards an economic model based on circular bioeconomy.
