On the 1st of december, part of the project team has travelled to Gijón (Asturias) to see the COGERSA facilities where the INFUSION solution is going to be tested.
Currently, the technology developed is being set up at Ecoparc 2 in Montcada i Reixac (Barcelona). There the liquid fraction of OFMSW will be treated until the first semester of 2023. After that, the prototype will be moved to COGERSA in order to test the technology by treating the liquid fraction of OFMSW and the leachate of the landfill managed. In addition, an upgrading unit will also be installed to produce biomethane.
Therefore, in order to facilitate the adaptation of the project – initially implemented in Ecoparc 2 – to the characteristics of the new liquid effluent to be treated and the configuration of the new location, the team has met in the Asturian facilities.
