On July 19th, LIFE INFUSION participated in BIOMETA 2023, a conference about biomethanization organized by the “Universitat de Barcelona”. It was a great opportunity to show how our project intends to recover the valuable resources present in waste effluents.
The BIOMETA, supported by “Bosch and Gimpera” institute and some of the most relevant entities in waste management in Catalonia, is a platform for the exchange of knowledge about energy recovery from waste in Spain. Some of the topics discussed in this edition were nitrogen recovery from organic waste and potential improvements in biogas production, topics strongly related with our project.
Our colleague Gloria Sanchez, from the AMB, presented our solution in the conference, bringing the opportunity to the audience to know how the assembling of various proven technologies could be useful to generate biogas and reclaim water and nutrients from the liquid fraction of organic municipal waste and landfill leachate.
What is more, this event allowed exploring synergies between the LIFE INFUSION and some of the most relevant projects in the field of energy recovery from waste.
