LIFE INFUSION stood out with its participation in the National Congress on the Environment (CONAMA2024), held from December 2 to 5 in Madrid. This event, recognized as a benchmark in sustainability and the environment, was the perfect stage for the project to present its innovative solutions in urban waste management and the promotion of a circular economy.
An informative stand at CONAMA Innova
On December 4, LIFE INFUSION had an informative corner alongside the LIFE ABATE project in the CONAMA Innova site, dedicated to innovation projects. This meeting point allowed attendees to learn about the projectu2019s goals and achievements, focused on transforming municipal liquid effluents into high-value resources such as energy, nutrients, and reusable water.
The informative corner became a key point of interest for sector professionals, institutions, companies, and students, creating a space for the exchange of ideas and collaboration on sustainable solutions. Additionally, information was shared on how LIFE INFUSION fosters collaborative innovation by integrating public and private actors into the development and implementation of its technologies.
A presentation with tangible results
As part of the session “Transformación urbana hacia modelos sostenibles”, also held in the CONAMA Innova site, Julia Hereza Atienza, a technician from the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona, presented the talk “Life Infusion, revolucionando el tratamiento de residuos para obtener recursos de valor”.
The presentation highlighted how the project combines advanced technologies to create urban biorefineries, closing the loop between waste and resources. Among the most relevant results, the system’s efficiency in reducing pollutants and generating by-products applicable in agriculture was emphasized, directly contributing to the circular economy. Results obtained by IRTA regarding the use of products like purge, permeate, and reclaimed water from LIFE INFUSION demonstration at Ecoparc 2, Barcelona, were also showcased.
The session included other notable interventions addressing topics such as waste management, sustainable mobility, and energy efficiency, reinforcing the congress’s role as a key forum for sustainable urban transformation.
A step forward towards the circular economy
COGERSAs participation was also noteworthy, featuring a poster about the Open Lab being implemented at its facilities, where the LIFE INFUSION solution will be demonstrated. This is an innovation space open to collaboration among companies, research centers, and researchers from all areas of the circular economy.
LIFE INFUSIONs participation in CONAMA2024 strengthens its commitment to transitioning towards sustainable models in urban waste management. With innovative proposals and tangible results, the project positions itself as a reference in promoting the circular economy and optimizing resources.
