After the last adjustments, including pipelines and boiler adaptations between others, the LIFE INFUSION project team is glad to inform that the Barcelona’s testing plant is officially working.
The semi-industrial scale first tests are showing promising results on the ammonia concentration reduction in the stripping unit. In this regard, different working temperatures are now under testing to determine the best operation conditions in the unit. First tests at 35ºC have been finished and higher operation temperatures will be tested in the following weeks. Afterwards, through the assessment of the cost and the performance the optimal temperature will be determined.
Other activities such as the inoculation of the ultrafiltration bioreactor are also in progress, therefore the complete system is expected to be working in the following weeks.
