The laboratory tests, prior to the semi-industrial scaling in the Ecoparc 2 of the AMB, are carried out to determine the best configuration and operational parameters and to estimate the capacity of the equipment used in the system.

In this case, the tests with liquid digestate are in an advanced stage. With these tests it have been possible to evaluate, among others, the viability of the stripping unit before or after the anaerobic membrane reactor, the ammonium reduction rate and the maximum load capacity of organic matter to ensure a correct operation. This phase of the project will be completed with specific characterizations on extractions of the samples tested.

Testing will soon begin with COGERSA’s landfill leachate in the same laboratory. The sample material will come from Gijón, Asturias.
